The dreaded test results are in…. You or someone in your family is intolerant to gluten or worse was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, which means you have to go on a gluten free diet.

You panic and all kinds of irrational thoughts start running through your head.

How are you ever going to eat anything good again? What even is gluten and how do you know what to look for?

With a feeling of defeat, you just come to grips with, “I guess my baking and cooking from scratch days are over now.”

Having to eat gluten free can be frustrating, overwhelming, and just all around hard… especially in the beginning.

Going gluten free.

When I was diagnosed with Celiac at age 5, I can only imagine what my parents were thinking. “What in the world am I going to feed my child!?”

Luckily, over the last 33 years many things have changed, including the amount of gluten free options that you can find in the stores and even at restaurants.

However, one thing still remains…. gluten free baking can be hard and unpredictable at times. Not to mention that not all brands and items taste the same.

Over the past 7 years I have made it my mission to create gluten free recipes that are healthy, delicious, and that even the non-gluten free people in your family will enjoy. Recipes like my copycat rice a roni, pizza dough, creamy mac and cheese, and delicious cornbread are just a few that have been regular hits with my family and friends!

E-book as a beginners guide.

I knew there was a need to teach everyone what I have learned during my journey of cooking from scratch gluten free. That is why I have created a document that takes the guess work out for you! You no longer need to wonder what flours should you be buying, how do you cook from scratch, and what you need to look for when you’re reading labels.

In this 30+ page e-book I go over the basics of eating gluten free, give you a list of pantry staples I have on hand all the time, where to buy them in bulk, the basic equipment I use to make my breads, and my best tips for getting started.

But here is the best part…. I am sharing FIVE never shared before recipes in this e-book!! Recipes that I have been making for my family and others for years.

These recipes include:

  • All-Purpose Flour Blend
  • French Bread
  • Biscuits
  • Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Coffee Cake Muffins

I have also included our favorite sandwich bread recipe in the e-book for convenience. Although this isn’t a never shared before recipe, it is conveniently placed in the book to be able to print with the rest.

Since writing this e-book I have created and perfected a gluten free whole grain bread recipe and a gluten free sourdough recipe. Both are staples in our kitchen weekly!

One of the recipes I am sharing is my all-purpose flour blend. Finding a good gluten free flour blend to use in all your recipes can be challenging. I have tried so many that are out on the market, but my favorite, from the store, is Cup 4 Cup by William Sonoma.

Up until about a year and a half ago, I would recommend Cup 4 Cup in all my recipes. I would buy it in bulk on Amazon, because that was the cheapest price, and it was my staple all-purpose flour.

The problem I had was it is so expensive. It was the only all-purpose gluten free flour that I could use in any recipe and it tasted perfect, but the cost was getting to me.

So I decided to try making my own. I had two very important criteria to follow… it needed to be cheaper to make than to buy AND it needed to taste just as good in all my recipes. If it didn’t hit both those criteria, it wasn’t worth making my own.

After a couple failed attempts and some tweaking, I nailed down a great recipe that I have been using for over a year now in all my recipes! The best part, I am saving roughly $20 a month not having to buy Cup 4 Cup.

This recipe is one of the most used recipes in my e-book!
