The house is quiet and it’s early in the morning. As I quietly creep to the kitchen to pour my morning coffee I am excited with anticipation. Instead of my usual splash of milk in in my coffee, I am putting in a splash of my simple peppermint mocha coffee creamer.
When I decided to ditch the store-bought creamer, I knew during certain time of year there were two creamers that I was going to miss. One seasonal creamer was pumpkin spice coffee creamer during the fall months but this homemade peppermint mocha creamer hits the spot during the winter months.
As I have been experimenting with some of my own homemade coffee creamers, I’ve decided that I like them better. There definitely is no going back now! It has been so fun trying to replicate a healthy version of some of the best seasonal coffee creamers.
There is just nothing like good wholesome ingredients. Making up my own favorite coffee creamers is the perfect way to get a treat, while also staying away from ingredients I don’t want to eat. Plus, in my opinion, they taste way better!

Using simple natural ingredients in your coffee creamer.
I love making different things from scratch in my kitchen because you know exactly what is in it. You don’t have to guess at what something on the back of your creamer says.
You know.
My rule of thumb in my kitchen is getting simple ingredients in their rawest form. There is no need to add additives or preservatives. Enjoy them when they are fresh and make up more when you need to!
Once you have your simple ingredients, the possibilities are endless with the healthy foods you can make! This coffee creamer hits all the marks.
Using simple ingredients like raw whole milk, raw heavy cream, homemade hot cocoa powder, maple syrup, and peppermint extract makes this coffee creamer the perfect treat during the holiday season.
You can personalize your coffee creamer to your taste buds.
Now that you have the right healthy ingredients you can personalize this homemade creamer to your taste buds.
Once I stopped buying coffee creamer at the grocery store, I slowly stopped liking them. I would try them in a cup of coffee at friends house and they would always seem too sweet for me. With making your own you can add more or less sweetener depending on how you like it! This recipe calls for hot cocoa mix. You may need to adjust the sweetness depending on how sweet your hot cocoa mix that you choose to use is.
You can also use small amounts of peppermint extract to your liking. If you don’t like a super strong peppermint taste, add less than the recipe calls for.
When you make your own coffee creamer you can get different flavors to your favorite creamers!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Heavy Cream, I like to use raw but you can use pasteurized cream.
- 3/4 cup Whole Milk, again I like to use raw but pasteurized is fine. You can also use skim milk, but it won’t be as fluffy and creamy.
- 2 TBSP Hot Cocoa Mix, I use my homemade version but you can use any store-bought version you like.
- 3 TBSP Pure Maple Syrup
- 1 TBSP Peppermint Extract
Simple Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer Recipe:
- Add all ingredients to a quart mason jar and whisk together for about 1 minute or until becomes slightly fluffy. You can also use an immersion blender to get it nice and fluffy and thick.
- Pour into an airtight container, I like to use these glass jars from Amazon with a tight sealed flip top. You can also keep it in a quart or 2-pint size mason jars with the lid and ring.
- This peppermint coffee creamer will keep for about 2 weeks… or longer if using pasteurized milk and cream and not raw. Just make sure to give it a good shake before each use because the chocolate will settle to the bottom.
This easy recipe is sure to please all your guests.
